What is space-ship?

space-ship a multi-media, multi-venue platform interested in fostering inclusive civic discourse through arts and culture. In a world becoming increasingly ruled by fictions, space-ship is committed to discussing reality through aesthetics. space-ship believes aesthetics is one of the few academic fields that does not attempt to be a direct form of knowledge, but can still provide great cognitive value. Eventually, we want to be an art’s think tank that curates opportunities to explore arts, culture and civic discourse in as many communities as possible, and expands on how “art” exists in the social world. So far we have done this by producing short term exhibitions in New York and London for emerging and traditionally underrepresented artists.

What does space-ship do?

It curates opportunities to explore arts, culture and theoretical discourse through installing pop-up spaces in storefronts, community spaces and within universities. With each exhibition, it also designs programs and educational initiatives around different upbringings, backgrounds, and perspectives all toward the exchange of social and cultural scheme.

When do we do it?

Each year space-ship aims to install three pop-up spaces in a storefront, community space and university.  Annually, one will be held in NYC.
